We will meet at Shibuya Station on the west side of Tokyo and guide you to diving points in Izu and Chiba on a day trip.

About Sazanami Marine Diving School

A small-group, homely scuba diving school located in Sakurashinmachi, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.
We offer day-trip scuba diving tours with transportation from Tokyo to Izu and Chiba.
We will guide visitors from overseas to the wonderful seas of Japan with all our heart.

Shibuya station morning meeting place

In front of JR Shibuya Station Mark City Exit 2 (opposite the Fresh Owada Shibuya store).
JR Shibuya station Hachiko ticket gate ⇒ Hachiko exit ⇒ Move about 60m in the direction of Mark City ⇒ Cross the pedestrian crossing and enter the wave street on the left.
It is a 1-2 minute walk from Hachiko Exit.

Single charge fee

If you’re the only one guest on the day, we will charge 4000yen  in addition to the tour fee.

Charter fee

In the case of chartering our tour, we will charge 12000yen per group per day as a charter fee in addition to the tour fee.
In addition, a chartering  is OK from 1 person, and can be accepted at any time except weekends during the busy season (June to October).

Hatsushima(Beach Dive & Boat Dive)

初島ダイビングツアー 2014/2/1(日)Travel time from Tokyo :About 2 hours by car and 30 minutes by liner ship.
Entry Level: Beginners can participate.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

It is a manned island with a circumference of 4 km, located 10 km off the coast of “Atami” at the base of the Izu Peninsula, and is one of our main points.
Compared to the other diving points, the water around this island has high transparency, and there are a lot of school of fish.

Atami(Boat dive only)

熱海沈船ダイブツアー 2015/1/18(日)Travel time from Tokyo: 2 hours by car
Entry Level: Recommended for those with intermediate level or above who have deep dive experience

Located at the gateway to Izu, it is a diving point with good access from Tokyo. The wreck dive around the the sunken ship “Asahi No. 16” that sinks to a depth of 30m is popular.

Izu Ocean Park(Beach dive only)

Entry Level: Beginners can participate.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

It is the most historic diving point in Japan.
There are various environments such as sandy areas, rocky areas, and drop-offs, and you can observe a wide variety of creatures.

Mikomoto Is.(Boat dive only)

Travel time from Tokyo: About 4 hours by car
Entry Level: Expert level diver with experience in drift dives, 80+ dives recommended.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

Dive around an uninhabited island 10 kilometers offshore from the southernmost tip of Izu.
All diving styles are drift dives.
One of the most exciting and hard diving points in Japan.
Dive to target large flocks of hammerhead sharks, flocks of large migratory fish, and various types of sharks.

Kumomi(Boat dive only)

Travel time from Tokyo: About 4 hours by car
Entry Level: Beginners can participate.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 2 person

A unique underwater landscape created by folded rocks.
It is a popular point for the cave-loved divers.  You can enjoy cave diving if you’re a beginner.

Tago(Boat dive only)

Travel time from Tokyo: 3 hours 30 minutes by car
Entry Level: (Outside the bay) Intermediate to (Inside the bay) Beginner
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 2 person

There is an outside point where you can enjoy schools of fish and dynamic topography, and an inside point where even beginners can easily dive and have beautiful corals.

Ose(Beach dive only)

Travel time from Tokyo: 2 hours 30 minutes by car
Entry Level: Beginners can participate.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

This is an interesting macro dive where you can observe various creatures such as sea slugs and frogfish.

Hirasawa(Beach Dive & Boat Dive)

Travel time from Tokyo: 2 hours by car
Entry Level: Beginners can participate.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

The sea is calm and the facilities are beautiful, so it is popular with female divers.
It is a diving point where you can see Mt. Fuji in front of you.

Kacchama(Boat dive only)

Travel time from Tokyo: 2 hours by car
Entry Level: Beginners can participate.
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

Chiba’s point with good access from Tokyo.
Beautiful soft corals and abundant creatures.
Popular with divers taking underwater photos.

Ido(Boat dive only)

Travel time from Tokyo: 2 hours 30 minutes by car
Entry level: from intermediate
Tour minimum number of accompanying people: From 1 person

This is a famous spot for feeding the stump sharks.
In addition, you can see big fishes such as stingrays, Longtooth groupers, and Asian sheepshead wrasses.

Daily schedule

  • 0600:Depart from the meeting point at Sakurashinmachi Station on the Den-en-toshi Line
  • 0620:Depart from the meeting place at JR Shibuya Station. We head to the dive site while taking one or two restroom breaks along the way. If you haven’t eaten breakfast, please purchase it during your break and eat it on the train.
  • 0930:Arrive at the dive site. 2 dives with a break after arrival.
  • 1430:After diving, we will have lunch at a restaurant on the way back. After that, head to Shibuya with one or two restroom breaks in between.
  • 1900:Arrive at the last stop-place at Shibuya Station
  • 1900:Arrived at the last stop-place of  Sakura-shinmachi Station of Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line

Please note that the arrival time may change depending on the distance to the planned diving point and the traffic conditions of the day.

Required level

Points for all level( OK from biginners)

NAUI or PADI open water divers, or those who have obtained the same rank qualifications from other organizations

Points: Hatsushima, Izu Ocean Park, Kumomi, Tago (inside the bay), Osezaki, Hirasawa, Kacchama

Points from middle-advanced divers

Must have NAUI or PADI Open-waterー Diver or equivalent C-card, and experience diving around 20 dives.

Points: Atami, Tago (outside the bay), Ido

Mikomoto Is.  A Point for expert divers

Mikomoto Is. point is a very hard point with strong and rapid current.  The diving style is drift diving. The required skills are

  • Minimum experience: 50dives (over 80 dives recommended)
  • Over Advanced card  of diving organizations
  • Within 6 monthes from the last dive
  • Age:All  (but if you are over 50 years-old, please join to a previous tour of the other points for check-dive)
  • If you consume air extreme rapidly, you can’t  join.
  • If you can’t  have a hovering skill and the other basic diving skills, you can’t join although you have 50dives-experience or the advanced card.

Cancellation policy

After the reservation is confirmed, if you cancel for your own convenience, a cancellation fee will be charged for any reason.
Also, if you cancel diving in the middle of the tour, refunds are not possible.

Top season (May to November)

  • 3 to 2 days before: 3000 yen
  • The day before: 5000 yen
  • On the day: 10000 yen

Off season (December to April)

  • The day before: 3000 yen.
  • On the day: 5000 yen
